Saw activity in both hives on warm days during the winter. Bought a stethoscope so I could listen for hive activity.
Noticed no activity or sounds in hive #1. Hive is dead. Looks like they froze. Still had lots of honey and candy board was not touched.
Hive #2 survived. It was much smaller and I really didn't think it would last the winter.
These are the combs from the dead hive. I sat them out in a rubber maid contain and let the other hive clean them out.
