Planted new native perennials

This is an area that I used the sod cutter to enlarge a smaller planting of Purple and Yellow coneflowers. It's been so dry, that I knew I would have trouble digging holes.  I first added a layer of compost and kept it watered to help soften up the soil.  Then days later, added mulch and kept that watered.  Yesterday, a front moved through and dropped the temperature a bit.  It's been in the lower 90s for a week. Finally got everything planted.

Nodding onion, Asclepias tuberose, Garden Phlox, White bergamont, Green coneflower, Senna, Purple prairie clover, Native lilac, New Jersey tea
