Battle against the weeds in the Daylilies, most wild violets.

 Wild violets will take over if you let them. The area that is now the daylily and also the iris bed were once covered in violets. I had used a herbicide, twice and thought I had them gone. But they are tough and reseed easily.  So decided to try to put down newspaper and add compost over the top.
