Stopped by a Garden Fair on Saturday get the free trees they were handing out. Picked up 2 Hawthorns, and a Pawpaw. Also bought two varieties of Baptisia: American Goldfinch and Blueberry. Picked up 3 Red stem Dogwood trees from a birding event the day before. Planted the Baptisia over where I had removed a large gooseberry bush. And put the trees in pots for now.
Removed the black plastic from the garden. The picture on the left was covered with the plastic for the winter. The hay with chicken manure decomposed and the ground is nice and soft. Picture on the right is an area that did not get covered
One reason that I do not like using straw on the garden. This was covered all winter and it does not decompose.
